  • Guide employees through open enrollment, qualifying life events and new-hire benefits elections; escalate plan or eligibility questions to the broker or plan administrator.
  • Coordinate leave requests (FMLA, ADA accommodation, state leave) and track deadlines, escalating eligibility decisions as needed.
  • Listen to and document employee concerns, coach managers on routine issues, and escalate complaints of harassment, discrimination or retaliation right away.
  • Help managers prepare documentation for coaching, corrective action and performance improvement plans.
  • Explain handbook policies consistently and flag where policy and practice don't match.
  • Support annual benefits renewal by working with the broker to review plan options, costs, and employee feedback.

HRIS, records and terminations (approx. 20%)

  • Enter and maintain employee data in Paylocity, including new hires, pay changes, title or department changes, and status changes.
  • Process terminations: complete HRIS updates, coordinate final pay within state deadlines, collect equipment, and confirm system access is removed the same day.
  • Send COBRA and benefits-end notices through the administrator, and conduct or document exit interviews.
  • Audit HRIS and payroll data on a regular schedule and correct errors with payroll.
  • Maintain personnel, medical and I-9 files according to record-retention rules and confidentiality requirements.
