Lead Accountant at Veseris – Austin, Texas

Job Summary: As a lead accountant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls of the company. Your role involves ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger and underlying financial records, leading and performing month-end close activities including the preparation and review of complex general ledger reconciliations and journal entries, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and providing financial insights to management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close

• Perform month-end and year-end close processes including the preparation and review of journal entries and supporting account reconciliations.

Financial Analysis

• Conduct analysis of account balances to drive insights and support process enhancements.
• Identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks to the organization's financial health.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department.
• Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

Audit and Compliance

• Support and actively participate in annual external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA certification
• Minimum 2 years experience in public accounting firm
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (US GAAP)

Preferred

• Experience with inventory cost accounting strongly preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, deFacto and/or, Flintfox an asset
• Experience with payroll accounting and/or fixed assets accounting an asset

• Onsite position based in Austin, Texas. Minimal hybrid as work demands allow.
