What are your responsibilities?

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will assist the Director, Supply Chain and Procurement with procurement activities for critical parts and services supporting legacy systems. This role combines supplier strategy, sourcing execution, and selection of high-value, high-impact parts and services to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and timely delivery for projects and maintenance activities.

What will you do?

• Coordinate procurement activities for high-value projects and critical maintenance work, ensuring on-time delivery, right-first-time quality, and adherence to scope.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement data and supplier records; ensure data quality for reporting and decision-making.
• Develop and monitor supplier performance through KPIs (delivery, quality, lead time, cost, and responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement plans.
• Mitigate supply risks by maintaining alternative sources, contingency plans, and supplier risk assessments for legacy systems.
• Drive compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, export controls (as applicable), and safety standards in all sourcing activities.
• Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors.
• Support budget planning and forecasting for strategic sourcing initiatives; provide frequent reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and Procurement.
• Prepare reports on procurement spending, vendor performance, inventory metrics, and part lead times for management review.
• Maintain quality control records with focus on alignment between vendor and customer deliverables.
• Other duties as assigned.

What do you need to qualify for this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of sourcing/procurement experience preferred, ideally with legacy industrial controls, electrical systems, turbine, or mechanical systems, preferably within aerospace, energy, or industrial services.
• Demonstrated experience sourcing high-value, long-lead-time parts and services, strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.,).
• Familiarity with engineering change management, part obsolescence, and risk assessment for legacy equipment.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence without direct authority.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on sourcing execution capability.
• Ability to travel as required for supplier visits and project support, as needed.
