This opportunity supports a large public transportation authority located in Dallas, Texas that operates bus, light rail, commuter rail, and mobility programs across a multi-city service area. The agency maintains a high volume of public-facing communications and relies heavily on clear, strategic, and engaging written content to support rider communication, public information campaigns, service updates, and community outreach initiatives. Copywriting within this environment includes the development of advertising campaigns, transit messaging, brochures, website content, service alerts, and branded communications that must be accurate, accessible, and consistent across multiple platforms.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in leading content development efforts by producing high-quality written materials, guiding messaging strategy, and ensuring consistency across all communications while adhering to established brand standards and public sector communication requirements.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Copywriter will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and refinement of written content that supports marketing, branding, and communications initiatives. The role focuses on producing and overseeing high-quality messaging for print and digital platforms, including advertisements, brochures, web content, and public communications. The position requires advanced writing expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Candidates must be capable of working independently, collaborating with leadership, and providing guidance on messaging and content direction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee written content for print and digital platforms including advertising campaigns, brochures, website content, and service communications
  • Lead content strategy and ensure messaging consistency across all communication channels
  • Edit and proofread materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, tone, and adherence to brand standards
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and leadership teams to develop effective messaging strategies
  • Adapt tone and messaging to meet the needs of diverse audiences and communication objectives
  • Review and refine content to meet quality and compliance standards
  • Manage multiple high-priority assignments while meeting deadlines
  • Provide guidance and feedback on content development as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in copywriting, advertising, or communications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality, strategic written content
  • Extensive experience writing for both print and digital platforms
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a deadline-driven environment

AVAILABILITY

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Additional hours may be required based on project demands

COMPENSATION

  • Pay Rate: $33.00 per hour
