Starting Salary: $54,492+

Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH) Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team is looking for a clinician who’s ready to step into the field, think on their feet, and make a real impact with individuals living with serious mental illness. This isn’t traditional outpatient therapy.
This is hands-on, life-changing work.

You’ll meet people where they are—literally. Homes, shelters, streets, and community settings become your “office” as you help individuals stabilize, recover, and reclaim independence.

Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field or other degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions. A master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Rehabilitation is required for some assigned programs.
Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
Requires a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) certification and highest Part C standards within 6 months of hire; CPR, First Aid and medication administration certifications within 3 months of hire, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification upon hire, Case Management Modules and Intellectual Disabilities Workbook completed within thirty days of hire, Part C Early Intervention Certification within six months of hire, and/or Pre-Screening Certification within 6 weeks of hire (12 weeks for part-time staff).
Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties

In accordance with City policy, this position is deemed safety-sensitive. As such, applicants for this position are subject to pre-employment drug/alcohol testing after receiving a conditional offer of employment and may also be subject to random testing.
