POSITION TITLE: Worksite Monitor (3)
DEPARTMENT: Youth Services
LOCATION: Juan Morel Campos Secondary School
REPORTS TO: Assistant Community School Director/Youth Employment Coordinator
SALARY: $22 Per hour/35 hours
DATES: July 2026– August 2026, Seasonal Position
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, (35 hours a week)
JOB SUMMARY: As part of our Youth Services Department’s vision, the Worksite Monitor plays a key role in supporting the Youth Employment Program at Grand Street Settlement. Responsibilities include supervising participants, ensuring a safe and structured worksite, and assisting with administrative tasks. The Worksite Monitor will document attendance, report incidents, and foster a positive and productive environment where youth gain valuable professional skills. Our Worksite Monitor(s) will assist in the day-to-day functioning of the youth employment program and ensure that youth are learning and building hard skills through the completion of the SYEP program year.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field
Experience developing and facilitating curricula preferred
Ideal candidate has previous experience with classroom instruction and/or facilitating lessons in specialized fields
Candidates must be very responsible and organized and demonstrate positive communication skills.
Ideal candidate is personable, energetic, and enthusiastic.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all students while always remaining professional and be able to motivate the students while setting an example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and most importantly, professionalism.
Must demonstrate timeliness, attendance, and most importantly, professionalism.
Candidate must successfully complete the following: NYCDOE Fingerprinting Screening; New York State Clearance NYS Clearance Review, and background checks (Fees may apply)
A valid CPR/AED Pro certification through a recognized accrediting body is preferred.
A valid First Aid/RTE certification through a recognized accrediting body is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must complete NYS OCFS Mandated Reporter and Foundations in Health and Safety trainings.
Facilitate orientation/education workshops for participants with a structured curriculum.
Serve as a mentor to participants by supporting positive behavior and teaching life skills to youth.
Must keep all interactions with participants, parents, and worksite staff up-to-date in the YEPS portal.
Responsible for documenting attendance, incidents, and injuries accurately and in a timely fashion.
Chaperone participants during outdoor activities, project-based activities, and other field activities.
Assist with all aspects of programming (i.e., following the organization's mission, supervising all youth, working collectively, and communicating with all staff).
Attend all required department/agency meetings and/or training.
Implement and facilitate projects and recreational activities for participants.
Take initiative to assist program participants and staff as needed.
Maintain program supplies and ensure proper use of all supplies.
Help enforce all rules and regulations and codes of conduct.
Other duties as assigned.
