About This Position

About Alaffia & Our Mission

Every year, U.S. health plans lose billions to improper payments and administrative waste. That wasted spending ultimately trickles down across the healthcare ecosystem, driving up costs for plans, providers, and patients alike. We’re here to change that paradigm.

Alaffia is a new kind of claims operations partner for health plans. Using expert clinicians and transparent AI, we deliver deeper insights, smarter automation, and consistently better outcomes across the entire lifecycle of claims. With Alaffia, health plans can cut wasted spending more effectively than ever — and provide their members the most affordable care.

We’re a high-growth, venture-backed Series B healthtech startup based in NYC and are actively scaling our company. Join us in helping to build a healthcare system that works better for everyone.

*This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to sponsor work visas at this time.

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly analytical and proactive Sales Strategy Associate to support go-to-market efforts at Alaffia Health. This role operates at the intersection of sales, healthcare analytics, and strategy, helping drive pipeline growth and enabling high-quality, insight-driven engagements with health plan executives.

You’ll partner closely with the sales team to research target accounts, prepare for executive-level conversations, and build compelling, data-backed business cases that demonstrate measurable ROI for payers.

This is an ideal role for someone interested in healthcare, analytics, and value-based selling, with a desire to grow into a senior commercial or strategy role.

You'll get:

  • Direct exposure to health plan executives and complex enterprise sales cycles

  • Deep learning opportunity in high-growth areas like payment integrity and AI in healthcare

  • Blend of strategy, analytics, and frontline sales impact

  • Clear path into Account Executive, Strategic Sales, or Revenue Operations leadership

What You'll be Doing

Pipeline Generation & Strategic Prospecting (#1 priority for first 60 days)

  • Identify and prioritize target health plans, TPAs, and risk-bearing providers

  • Map key stakeholders (e.g., Payment Integrity, Claims, CFO orgs)

  • Support outbound efforts with tailored, insight-driven messaging

  • Leverage industry triggers (M&A, CMS changes, cost pressures) to inform outreach

Healthcare Customer Research & Insights

  • Conduct deep research on payer organizations (membership, lines of business, claims volume, vendor landscape)

  • Analyze publicly available data (MLR trends, financial performance, Star Ratings, regulatory exposure)

  • Develop account briefs highlighting pain points in claims leakage, fraud/waste/abuse, and vendor inefficiencies

  • Track trends across Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services policy and reimbursement changes

Executive Meeting Preparation

  • Build tailored pre-read materials for meetings with VP/C-level stakeholders

  • Prepare strategic talking points aligned to each payer’s priorities (cost containment, audit efficiency, provider abrasion, etc.)

  • Develop polished decks and narratives for high-stakes conversations

  • Ensure AEs are equipped with differentiated, hypothesis-driven insights

ROI Modeling & Value Story Development

  • Build customized ROI models quantifying savings from improved payment integrity

  • Translate Alaffia’s capabilities (AI-driven claim review, provider engagement, audit efficiency) into financial impact

  • Align value messaging to key payer metrics (e.g., cost per claim, recovery rates, admin cost reduction)

  • Support value-based selling with clear, defensible business cases

  • Input into Alaffia’s pricing model

Proposal Development & Deal Execution

  • Draft and customize proposals, RFP responses, and client deliverables

  • Translate technical and operational capabilities into clear business value

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, and leadership

  • Support deal progression by ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables

Who You Are
  • 2–5 years of experience in healthcare, consulting, investment banking, or sales

  • Strong analytical skills (Excel / financial modeling required; experience with healthcare data a plus)

  • Familiarity with payer economics, claims processing, or payment integrity concepts preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with executive audiences

  • Ability to distill complex healthcare and data topics into simple, compelling insights

  • Highly organized and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment

Our Culture

Alaffia was born out of our founders’ personal connection to the inefficiency of the U.S. healthcare system. We are deeply mission-driven, with an abiding belief that technology can help create a better future for everyone — and we’re looking for others who share our passion for change to join the team.
