About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk I to support daily warehouse and logistics operations within a steel fabrication environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring materials, parts, and finished goods move accurately and efficiently through our facility. What You’ll Do

Shipping & Outbound Support

• Prepare and package outgoing shipments
• Verify materials against work orders and pick lists
• Generate and process shipping documentation
• Coordinate carrier pickups (LTL, flatbed, parcel, etc.)
• Stage and secure products for transport

Receiving & Inbound Support

• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries
• Verify accuracy of packing slips and shipments
• Record received materials into tracking systems
• Communicate shortages or discrepancies

Material Handling & Yard Assistance

• Assist with loading and unloading shipments
• Help organize staging and storage areas
• Support movement of steel components and materials
• Participate in general warehouse organization

Inventory & Organization

• Label and organize materials and finished goods
• Support inventory accuracy and stock management
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas

What We’re Looking For Required

• 1-2 years of experience working with heavy steel
• Reliable, punctual and detail-oriented
• Prior shipping & receiving or warehouse experience
• Comfortable working in a physically active role
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Strong organizational habits
• Ability to work well within a team

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience handling longer/heavier materials
• Familiarity with shipping paperwork (BOLs, packing slips)
• Forklift certification or experience
• Flatbed loading or load securement experience

Work Environment

This role operates in a steel fabrication / warehouse setting and involves regular movement of materials, standing, and hands-on work. Standard safety procedures and PPE apply.
