Position Summary
Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for the Cath lab patient population.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for professional interactions with multiple departments to ensure safe patient care
• A wide degree of creativity, latitude and critical thinking is expected
• Position requires on-call availability on a regular basis for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• The ability to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes of a call in is a requirement
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• BSN required
• Previous Cath Lab or ICU experience preferred
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required
• Licensed RN with a minimum 3 years’ patient-facing RN experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
• All non-BSN RN's with less than 3 years’ patient-facing RN experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
• State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho prior to start date
• Previous experience in a Cath lab, critical care, or emergency room setting is required. Equivalent procedural experience may be considered at the discretion of the hiring manager
• Competency in procedural sedation, cardiac medication administration, and cardiac monitoring are required
• Confidence in reporting to physician changes in patient status and needs to care for patients in potentially emergent situations are essential
• BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
• ACLS Required

• Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
• Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
• Must be able to assist in patient transfer
