Property Maintenance Worker at Waring Hotels Inc – Lexington Park, Maryland

Job Summary: The Grounds Maintenance Technician II is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Property Management Manager. The Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall ground and building maintenance for Cherry Cove Group Corporate Office, and leased buildings and residential properties. Typical hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 1:00pm Friday. Evening and Weekend on-call rotation as needed for emergencies.

Essential Functions:

1. Aligns with and ensures full compliance to policies, procedures and standards of the Cherry Cove Group, hotel brand and franchise

2. Performs daily ground and building maintenance as needed.

3. Responsible for keeping garage bay and Maintenance areas clean and organized.

4. Responsible for maintaining the appearance and mechanical systems of residential and commercial buildings

5. Operates hand and mechanical tools for use in plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair.

6. All other duties as assigned.

2. Coordinates with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

3. Recognizes, reports, and corrects conditions which may create security and safety hazards.

4. Understands and adheres to policies and procedures for the building’s key control system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Excellent customer service skills

2. Must have a valid driver license, a clean driving record, and have been licensed for a minimum of 3 years.

3. Ability to multi-task and be organized

4. Ability to manage time management effectively

5. Ability to exercise good judgment

6. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

7. Ability to schedule, prioritize, and perform work

8. Proficient with the use of hand and mechanical tools

9. Proficient with basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma/GED

2. Two (2) years of experience in commercial maintenance operations or related/prior work experience in a similar field

3. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

4. Computer software proficiency preferred

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

1. Must be comfortable driving majority of day, as work is performed at different off-site locations.

2. Ability to lift 50lbs

3. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and be able to bend at the waist and stretch above the head

4. This position works with and around several different chemicals during the course of the day

5. This position works with and around blood borne pathogens

6. This position works outdoors in varying climates.
