About the Role:
The NACE Inspector Level II plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and quality of protective coatings applied to industrial structures and equipment. This position involves conducting detailed inspections and assessments to verify compliance with industry standards and project specifications, thereby preventing corrosion and extending asset life. The inspector will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to provide expert guidance on coating application and surface preparation techniques. Through meticulous documentation and reporting, the role supports continuous improvement in coating processes and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Ultimately, the NACE Inspector Level II contributes to the successful delivery of projects by safeguarding structural performance and minimizing maintenance costs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification as a NACE Level II Coating Inspector or equivalent recognized certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial coating inspection or related field.
- Strong understanding of coating materials, surface preparation methods, and corrosion control principles.
- Proficiency in using inspection instruments such as dry film thickness gauges, adhesion testers, and holiday detectors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in diverse industrial environments such as oil and gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
- Additional certifications related to welding inspection or nondestructive testing (NDT).
- Familiarity with digital inspection reporting software and data management systems.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations relevant to coating operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections of surface preparation and coating application in accordance with NACE standards and project specifications.
- Utilize specialized inspection tools and techniques to assess coating thickness, adhesion, and curing.
- Document inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports highlighting compliance and any deviations.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and quality assurance teams to resolve coating-related issues promptly.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Perform Dry Film thickness readings as needed
- Perform Pull adhesion testing as needed.
