Licensed Practical Nurse Behavioral Health

As a Valleywise Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Inpatient Behavioral Health, you'll be an important part of a collaborative care team dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered mental health care.

Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee and general supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide skilled nursing care while supporting the clinical, technical, and administrative needs of the inpatient behavioral health team.

What You'll Do

As part of our multidisciplinary behavioral health team, you will:

Deliver professional, skilled, and age-appropriate nursing care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support individualized patient care.
Assist with nursing, technical, and administrative responsibilities that support safe and effective patient care.
Use strong clinical skills and professional behaviors to promote meaningful and cost-effective healthcare.
Support patients from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences with compassion, dignity, and respect.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other members of the care team.
Prioritize and manage responsibilities effectively in a dynamic behavioral health environment.

Hourly Pay Range: $22.19 - $32.73

Qualifications

Education:

Requires graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse training program.

Experience:

Prefer at least one (1) year of nursing-related experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
Must have the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member’s scope of practice.

Specialized Training:

Must have crisis prevention and intervention training.

Certification/Licensure:

Requires valid licensure as a Practical Nurse, which is issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Requires a BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center within three months.
