Senior Revenue Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of revenue accounting, billing operations, and systems-driven finance transformation within a high-growth SaaS environment. You will own critical parts of the billing lifecycle while ensuring revenue recognition accuracy and financial integrity across complex subscription structures. The position blends hands-on operational ownership with strategic accounting support, particularly around month-end close, ASC 606 compliance, and AR management. You will also serve as a key expert in billing systems, helping optimize and scale platforms such as Zuora while improving automation and data quality. Operating in a global, cross-functional finance organization, you will collaborate closely with Accounting, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams. This is a highly systems-oriented role for someone who enjoys solving complex billing problems while actively improving how finance functions operate at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the end-to-end subscription billing lifecycle, including invoicing, amendments, renewals, credits, and complex contract-based billing scenarios
  • Serve as the internal Zuora expert, maintaining and optimizing billing configurations, product catalogs, and subscription structures
  • Support revenue accounting activities, including ASC 606 compliance, revenue recognition support, and month-end close reconciliations
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure billing data integrity and alignment with revenue recognition requirements
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, including collections, aging analysis, cash application, and DSO monitoring
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, invoicing issues, and escalations with accuracy and urgency
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, and Finance to ensure accurate billing execution and customer satisfaction
  • Review contracts and order forms to ensure correct billing setup and identify revenue implications
  • Contribute to system improvements across Zuora and connected platforms such as Salesforce
  • Drive process optimization initiatives with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and AI-enabled efficiency
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, billing operations, or SaaS finance operations roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Zuora, including billing configuration, invoicing, subscriptions, and reporting (required)
  • Solid understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition principles
  • Experience supporting month-end close processes, reconciliations, and revenue-related journal entries
  • Background in accounts receivable management, collections, and cash application processes
  • Strong systems aptitude with experience working across interconnected finance tools (e.g., Zuora, Salesforce, ERP systems)
  • Ability to interpret contracts and translate commercial terms into accurate billing and accounting treatment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional environments with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or subscription-based businesses preferred
  • Exposure to AI-assisted finance workflows or automation tools is a strong plus
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary within a US market-aligned range (~$96K–$106K base, depending on experience)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution
  • Flexible paid time off with strong emphasis on work-life balance
  • Paid parental leave and family support benefits
  • Work-from-home stipend to support remote setup
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and additional wellness support
  • Opportunity to work in a global, high-growth SaaS environment
  • Strong focus on professional development, learning, and internal growth mobility
  • Collaborative, cross-functional finance culture with exposure to senior stakeholders
