Our internship program welcomes hospitality majors in Las Vegas to learn from industry leaders in a hands-on real-life scenario.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
As an Intern, you will experience what it is like to be a team member at a world-class luxury Resort & Spa, all while joining a cohort of peers to learn, grow, and explore what it means to work in hospitality. This 14-week rotation internship program is designed to engage you beyond the day-to-day work experience; inviting you to participate in activities and events that cater to the specific interests and needs of today’s students. You will be exposed to various departments to gain a well-rounded awareness of The Resort at Summerlin operations.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guest Services: Assist in providing excellent customer service to guests by greeting them, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Casino Operations: Gain an understanding of the true value of a guest. Learn aspects of Players Club, Slot Machines, Table Games, Marketing and how to elevate a guest experience.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the casino department, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and is a junior or senior in credit hours
- Must be able to obtain a Gaming License once selected for the internship
- Preferred major in Business, Hospitality, or related fields
- Applicant must be 21 by the first day of the internship to be eligible for the Casino Employee Registration
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Sponsorships provided.
Must be able to obtain the following work cards if selected for the program:
- Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card)
- Valid Non-Gaming/Sheriff’s Card
WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH (STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES):
You will learn best practices and operational strategies from top executives to line-level hospitality experts to help you build a solid career foundation. Our program gives interns the opportunity to shadow and get hands-on experience in hospitality. You will gain exposure to our business operations at the Casino. As an intern, you can complete various projects and present results to property management and staff.
