Under the direction of, and reporting to the Graphics Manager, the Production Print Specialist is responsible for preparing, coordinating and communicating all tasks related to flexographic printed items. This position serves as a liaison between operations and graphics with a goal to have seamless execution in production while focused on customer needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage workflow steps and effectively communicate problems or errors with appropriate staff. Workflow includes executing on the pre-press checklist, checking the printing layout and the finishing layout, identifying the rewind, and inspecting both new and legacy plates.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the color management software, providing support and training as needed. Coordinates with IT to ensure the software version is current on all applicable workstations.
- Responsible for maintaining and entering color libraries and the workflow associated with them.
- Able to learn and understand the abilities of our machines so that the customer gets the highest quality and most cost-effective product.
- Importing color match formula in ink mixing system.
- Create and document print position on a printed material (layout).
- Maintain and manage inventory of filing systems which include the red folder and plate systems in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide backup support to the Printing Team Supervisor for inventory-related activities, including anilox and sleeve inventory management and weekly ink inventory reconciliation.
- Frequently multi-task while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high-quality control Perform primary document control function to ensure the Pre-print team is in compliance with the document control guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to pass a color proficiency test and a color blindness test.
- Advanced computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn, navigate, and master specialized software systems.
- Proficient in mathematics, including fractions and measurements; able to accurately read and interpret rulers and other measurement tools.
- Strong judgment and decision-making.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, D365) needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required
- 3-5 years of pressroom experience with emphasis on mounting, operation or pre-press required. 1 year of experience working within ColorCert or similar color management software.

Leadership also has the authority to make decisions relating to the disposition of non-conforming material in accordance to customer specifications, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and company policies.
C. Product Safety and Contamination Prevention
Glenroy serves many customers in industries where our packaging must meet their stringent product safety requirements. It is the responsibility of company leadership to ensure that Glenroy employees will be made aware of the potential for product contamination while performing their jobs and daily routines. All employees will be trained on specific programs and policies that are in place to prevent such product contamination from occurring. It is the responsibility of all Glenroy employees to follow the programs and policies they have been trained on.
