Orthodontic Assistant (RDA) – Bring Your RDA, We'll Bring the Ortho in Marlton, New Jersey at Career Opportunities
Job Description
Let's start with a question.
Are you looking for a job? Or a place you actually look forward to walking into?
We're Segal and Iyer Orthodontics, a growing practice in Marlton, and we're looking for a Registered Dental Assistant to join our clinical team.
Here's the part that matters most:
You need your New Jersey credentials. You do NOT need orthodontic experience.
We'd rather invest in a motivated RDA who's excited to learn orthodontics than insist on years of specialty experience. Your attitude, work ethic, and willingness to grow matter more to us.
We can teach brackets and wires. We can't teach warmth, hustle, or pride in your work.
Why Ortho?Ortho is a different world from general dentistry.
You see the same patients every few weeks for a year or two. You get to know them, from teens picking their band colors to adults who waited years to finally fix their smile. You watch nervous first-day patients of every age turn into people who can't stop smiling. You become the person patients ask for by name.
It's faster, more hands-on, and more about relationships, and you see progress at every single visit. For the right person, orthodontics can be an incredibly rewarding specialty to build a career in.
Requirements: What You'll Actually DoYou'll play an active, hands-on role in patient care, building your skills and confidence as you learn the specialty.
• Learn to assist with bonding, wire changes, adjustments, debonds, and appliance delivery, then take on the hands-on work your RDA allows
• Run your chair: seat patients, guide them through their visit, and keep the schedule moving
• Take photos, impressions, and radiographs
• Coach patients and parents on brushing around brackets, elastics, and retainer wear
• Keep operatories and sterilization clean, stocked, and by the book on infection control and OSHA
• Chart accurately in our practice management system
How We'll Teach You OrthoYou'll train hands-on with our orthodontists and experienced clinical team from your first day. We'll teach you the instruments, the appliances, the workflow, and the software, one step at a time. You bring the RDA foundation, and we'll turn you into an ortho pro.
What You Need• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active New Jersey Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) registration in good standing
• New Jersey Dental Radiologic Technologist license
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Eagerness to learn a new specialty
Who Thrives Here
• People who genuinely like people
• Fast learners who ask good questions
• Clear, warm communicators with kids, teens, and adults
• People their team can count on, every single day
• Self-starters who don't need to be micromanaged
• Anyone who takes pride in doing things right
Nice to Have
• Orthodontic experience. Great if you have it, totally fine if you don't.
• Experience with Cloud 9, Dolphin, Ortho2, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar software
Compensation
• $28–$31 per hour, depending on experience
• Paid sick leave under New Jersey's Earned Sick Leave Law
Sound Like You?
If you take pride in your work, enjoy staying busy, and want to keep growing professionally, all while learning a new specialty and building real relationships with patients and a team that genuinely likes working together, we'd love to meet you.
Not sure you're ready for ortho? Apply anyway. That's exactly who we're hoping to meet.
