Job Description
Are you an experienced CMM Quality Inspector looking for a stable aerospace manufacturing career with competitive pay, shift differential, and long‑term growth? We are hiring a skilled inspector to support our precision aerospace machining operations in Winsted.
In this role, you will perform CMM inspections, in‑process checks, and final quality verification on tight‑tolerance aerospace components using advanced metrology equipment and industry‑standard inspection software.
Candidates with experience in CMM inspection, GD&T, blueprint reading, and AS9100 aerospace quality standards are strongly encouraged to apply.
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: Winsted
Pay: Competitive Compensation + 15% Shift Differential
CMM Quality Inspector Responsibilities
Perform in‑process, first article, and final inspections on precision‑machined aerospace components
Operate and/or program CMM equipment using PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or similar software
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts
Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, height stands, gauges, and comparators
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
Identify non‑conforming material and support root cause and corrective action activities
Collaborate with machining, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer‑specific quality requirements
Qualifications (Required)
2+ years of experience in quality inspection, CMM inspection, or precision machining inspection
Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
Experience operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Qualifications (Preferred)
Aerospace manufacturing or AS9100 experience
CMM programming experience (PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent)
Experience inspecting tight‑tolerance machined components
Background in CNC machining or machining support
