Position Summary
The Academic Advancement Director at University Christian School provides visionary leadership in advancing academic excellence, student achievement, and instructional effectiveness across all grade levels. This role partners closely with school leadership, faculty, and families to strengthen curriculum, assessment, and academic programs while ensuring alignment with the school’s Christ-centered mission. The Director supports continuous improvement, fosters innovation in teaching and learning, and promotes a culture of high expectations, growth, and accountability.

The Academic Advancement Director models Christian character, supports spiritual formation, and ensures that academic practices reflect biblical values and the school’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Program Development
* Provide leadership and strategic direction for academic programs, curriculum development, and instructional practices.
* Collaborate with the Head of School and leadership team to evaluate, strengthen, and expand academic initiatives.
* Ensure curriculum alignment with state standards, accreditation requirements, and University Christian School’s educational philosophy.
* Lead academic planning that supports student growth, college readiness, and lifelong learning.
Curriculum & Instruction
* Oversee curriculum review, alignment, and implementation across all grade levels.
* Support faculty in the development of engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate instruction.
* Promote best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Encourage the integration of faith and learning in all academic disciplines.
Faculty Support & Professional Development
* Partner with school leaders to support, mentor, and evaluate faculty in instructional effectiveness.
* Design and implement professional development opportunities focused on academic growth, instructional strategies, and student outcomes.
* Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
Student Achievement & Assessment
* Analyze academic data to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
* Support intervention strategies and enrichment opportunities to meet diverse student needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to promote academic success for all students.
Accreditation & Compliance
* Support accreditation processes and ensure compliance with academic standards and policies.
* Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
Family & Community Engagement
* Communicate academic vision, goals, and initiatives clearly to families and stakeholders.
* Serve as a resource for parents regarding curriculum, academic programs, and student progress.
* Collaborate with admissions and advancement teams as needed to support student recruitment and retention.
Requirements:Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, including instructional leadership or administrative experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and academic assessment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
A clear commitment to Christian education and alignment with University Christian School’s mission and values.
Preferred
Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
Experience in a Christian school or faith-based educational environment.
Familiarity with accreditation processes and educational best practices.
