Midland Medical is now hiring Program Specialist I in Oakland Park, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift and Night Shift| In Office: Monday 8am-2pm, Tuesday-Friday 8a-5p, Outreach: Tues 8a-5p Wed-Sat 2p-11p
Pay Rate: $23-$24/hour

What You’ll Do
The Program Specialist I is responsible for integrating the Mission and Core Values of Midland Cares, in the provision of quality medical care management, testing, and outreach services that encompass retention-based models to eligible patients and those under the Midland umbrella. This position works closely with the Community Programs Manager and other outreach/Case management staff in providing culturally and linguistically sensitive retention and scheduling services to the Midland Cares Insurance Program, who are said eligible population. Under the direction of the Manager of Community Programs.
Career Path:
Program Specialists manage varying degrees of work. There are three Program Specialist levels: PS I, PS II and PS III. A level and salary are assigned based on their professional experience or combination of education and professional experience. A Program Specialist can directly affect their career path (level) based on their work to increase the size and scope of their clinic(s). Levels are reviewed annually as part of the annual review/merit cycle.
- Promotes and practices Midland Medical’s mission and values and follows its policies and procedures.
- Ensures confidentiality is maintained by entire team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.
- Assists patients with the enrollment into the Midland Cares Insurance Program, working closely with the chosen brokerage firm to the ACA Marketplace.
- Navigates patients through the Midland Cares Insurance Program, managing the needs of each patient and ensuring that they meet the requirements for the program.
- Ensures accuracy of scheduling for PrEP and HIV-positive patients who are enrolled in the Midland Cares Insurance Program.
- Tracks the data for each of the patients enrolled in the Midland Cares Insurance Program.
- Participation in Midland Meetings/Committees such as MC Operations Committee and monthly interdisciplinary staff meeting.
- Adhere to all Florida Department of Health rules, guidelines, and parameters to ensure continuity of care and confidentiality.
- Participate in all community events scheduled by the company, along with attaining key goal measures linked to testing and linkage.
- Drives and maintains the Mobile Testing Unit as needed/applicable.
- Provide health screenings to individuals in the community in accordance with our grants, MOU and other service agreements.
- Prepare safe-sex kits, and at-home testing materials for individual in the community that support our HIPPA compliant programing.
- Assist in all of Midlands testing initiatives including but not limited to, walk in testing and testing at outreach events.

Requirements:Education/Professional:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent (GED)
- A bachelor’s degree in social science or qualifying field (Preferred)
- 500/501 certification (Preferred)
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
