Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift, to adequately protect the life and property of guests, team members and the entire facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, employees and/or the facility.
  2. Escorts and observes guests and employees, to ensure their safety and protection; identifies potential safety hazards and report same to the appropriate individual, for proper resolution.
  3. Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing same.
  4. Acts as a Dispatcher during emergency situations, and coordinates solutions to same; informs outside agencies, at the direction of a Shift Supervisor, of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
  5. Operates property vehicles as directed to do so.
  6. Maintains a working knowledge of the facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow employees of same, whenever possible.
  7. Ensures safe transportation of money, assisting in the opening and closing of the gaming tables.
  8. Interacts with guests and employees in a positive, professional manner.
  9. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
    Maintains a series of keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.
    Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the age of twenty-one, to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.
    All other duties as assigned.

REPORTING LINE

You will report directly to the Security Supervisor and then the Security Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
  • The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
  • The ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to read, write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • The availability to work all shifts.
  • The ability to work in a fast–paced environment and stressful situations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
  • The ability to verify the right to work in the United States.

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. A minimum of one year of law enforcement or gaming security experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for prolonged periods of time. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, sit, climb, balance, carry and lift to 100 lbs. Constant use of hearing, speech, vision (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus, and distinguishing between shades of color), radios, and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
