As a Senior Software Engineer: macOS, you will design, build, and maintain sophisticated systems software and applications for the macOS platform.
You’ll take ownership of software modules throughout their lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, documentation, and maintenance.

- Design, develop, test, document, and maintain high-quality software modules and systems applications running on macOS.
- Develop and enhance macOS platform capabilities while considering performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Work hands-on with macOS architecture and internals, including Darwin, Cocoa, Core Services, Apple frameworks, and platform SDKs.
- Build software using Swift, Objective-C, and C++ within Xcode and apply appropriate development practices for production systems.
- Develop and integrate solutions using the Apple Endpoint Security framework.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to develop new features and integrations across interconnected software components.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in macOS environments, investigating operating-system behavior, networking, filesystems, processes, applications, and security controls.
- Contribute to solutions involving databases, cryptography, device management, and other systems-level technologies.
- Support reliable software delivery through appropriate testing, documentation, debugging, and ongoing maintenance.
- Bring a practical, ownership-oriented approach to solving technical challenges and contributing to an evolving engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on experience developing for macOS.
- Strong understanding of macOS administration, platform architecture, and operating-system internals.
- In-depth knowledge of technologies such as Darwin, Cocoa SDK, Core Services, and Apple development libraries and SDKs.
- Proficiency with Xcode and programming experience in Swift, Objective-C, and C++.
- Experience developing with the Apple Endpoint Security framework.
- Strong understanding of OS concepts including kernel and user modes, filesystems, networking, process and application management, security, and access control.
- Working knowledge of databases, cryptography, troubleshooting, and macOS device-management concepts and applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other technical teams while independently taking ownership of engineering deliverables.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced technology environment is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States.
- Base salary range of $150,000–$200,000 for the San Francisco Bay Area, with exact compensation varying based on skills, experience, and location.
