As a Practice Coordinator, you are responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support the practice and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires a combination of insurance and eligability knowledge, referral and authorizations, medical knowledge, and strong interpersonal abilities. We are looking for someone who thrives on 5 star patient care and compassion as you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with medical assistants, physicians, advanced practitioners, additional front office and clinical staff colleagues. Private Medical/Orthopedic or Pain Medicine experience a plus.

Experienced Practice Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Patient Intake & Reception: Greet patients with a smile, register new patients, and obtain current insurance, identification, and completed paperwork. Must have knowledge of insurance plans and understanding requirements for treatment, referrals, and copays.

Financial & Administrative: Collect co-pays and past-due balances, prepare charts, and perform end-of-day closing procedures.

Clinical Coordination: Upload imaging to the PACS system. Cross trained in the Check Out procedures and will be responsible for sending orders for physical therapy or imaging and obtain injection consents during the scheduling process. Ensure the patient is correctly identified for next steps in care and in completing tasks. All team members are cross-train in "Check-out" duties to support the full patient cycle.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Mandatory background in a medical office or facility setting.

Skills: 2+ years of customer service and computer skills; 1 year of medical terminology (preferred).

Technical Knowledge: Check-in/Check Out experience is required. Knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW), Phreesia, and insurance verification is highly helpful. Must have knowledge of insurance benefits and insurance card verifications.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Attributes: Professional, mature, reliable, and a quick learner who can work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
