Position Description
The Committee on Australian Studies at Harvard University seeks to appoint a distinguished scholar to the Gough Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser Visiting Professor of Australian Studies for the 2028-2029 academic year.

Incumbents of the Chair will ordinarily hold the title of Gough Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser Visiting Professor of Australian Studies, are expected to teach two courses, and to reside at Harvard for the full academic year.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or terminal degree is required.
Additional Qualifications
Candidates must exhibit intellectual leadership and impact in a field of study and teaching relevant to Australian Studies. Candidates who are qualified to teach in a department, degree program or field of study offered in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences are particularly encouraged. Salary Range
Pay offered to the selected candidate will match the academic year professorial salary at the candidate’s home institution, converted to USD.
