Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture based in Canada.

The Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture will provide strategic technical leadership across client engagements, from early-stage discovery through successful delivery.
This role combines architecture expertise, consulting skills, and hands-on technology knowledge to design scalable solutions that meet complex business needs.
You will partner with clients, executives, and delivery teams to shape product visions, define technical strategies, and guide implementation efforts.
The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
You will act as a trusted technology advisor, helping organizations adopt modern engineering practices and innovative solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture leads technical strategy across both pre-sales and delivery initiatives, helping clients define, architect, and execute successful digital solutions. This role combines consulting, architecture leadership, and subject matter expertise to support business growth and deliver high-value technology outcomes.

  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, scoping, and work planning activities during pre-sales engagements.
  • Collaborate with prospective clients and executive stakeholders to communicate technical capabilities and develop trusted partnerships.
  • Drive architecture and discovery projects by applying consulting methodologies to refine product strategies and technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout implementation phases, supporting delivery teams and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Own a technology specialization by providing expertise in areas such as cloud platforms, application frameworks, data services, or enterprise technologies.
  • Act as a strategic advisor and architectural resource for active projects, helping teams overcome technical challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Develop repeatable frameworks, best practices, and technology approaches that improve delivery quality and consistency.
  • Support client organizations in adopting modern engineering practices, including agile methodologies, continuous delivery, and rapid iteration.
  • Contribute to account growth by identifying opportunities to expand services and provide broader technology solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously develop expertise in relevant technical domains.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive software delivery experience, strong architecture capabilities, and a proven ability to operate in consulting or client-facing environments. They can balance technical depth with business understanding and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Significant experience in solutions architecture, software engineering leadership, technical consulting, or a related technology role.
  • Experience delivering software solutions within an agency, consulting, or client-service environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern technology ecosystems across multiple platforms, with expertise in one or more areas such as:
    • Front-end technologies including React, Angular, React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
    • Backend technologies including Node.js, Spring, .NET, Python, APIs, and distributed systems.
    • Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Data technologies including SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, and enterprise data services.
  • Experience leading technical discovery, architecture planning, software estimation, and project planning within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Ability to break down complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to executives, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
  • Strong experience shaping product visions, evaluating technical options, and recommending practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working across both pre-sales and post-sales environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and make sound technical decisions.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and applying innovative approaches to solve business challenges.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with customer experience platforms such as Amazon Connect, Zendesk CCaaS, Google CES, Five9, or Genesys.
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI and machine learning platforms such as AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure ML, or Vertex AI.
  • Understanding of MLOps practices and machine learning deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
