Job Description

Senior Director of Product - Aurora

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director of Product - Aurora based in the United States.

This is a senior product leadership role focused on driving the strategy, execution, and commercial success of a major software product area. You will own the product direction and roadmap while partnering closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, operations, and delivery teams. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on product management, customer discovery, requirements development, and execution. You will use market evidence, customer research, and business economics to identify opportunities and make informed prioritization decisions. The position also offers the opportunity to shape how products are commercialized and build strong product management practices across the organization. This is an influential role within a business evolving toward a more software- and product-led operating model.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the product strategy and 12–24-month roadmap for the assigned product area, grounded in market evidence, customer research, competitive positioning, and business economics.

  • Lead product execution in close partnership with engineering, design, and delivery teams, establishing high standards for how product work is defined and delivered.

  • Conduct continuous discovery with corporate legal departments, law firms, internal review teams, and operations stakeholders to identify meaningful problems and opportunities.

  • Translate customer and market insights into clearly defined product problems, requirements, and opportunities rather than simply responding to feature requests.

  • Evaluate, size, prioritize, and sequence opportunities while making clear trade-offs and communicating prioritization decisions effectively.

  • Own the product roadmap and release planning, partnering with engineering leadership on scope, sequencing, dependencies, and technical trade-offs.

  • Establish outcome-based success measures for product initiatives and track performance against defined objectives.

  • Create a transparent intake and prioritization process for customer requests, sales escalations, and internal product ideas.

  • Partner with product marketing on product positioning, launch readiness, sales enablement, and market messaging.

  • Equip sales and client services teams with value propositions, demonstrations, competitive positioning, and qualification guidance.

  • Support strategic customer opportunities and executive-level conversations while protecting the product roadmap from excessive one-off commitments.

  • Hire, coach, and develop product managers while strengthening capabilities in product writing, discovery, analysis, decision-making, and stakeholder management.

  • Establish clear decision rights across the product area, distinguishing decisions that should be owned, recommended, or escalated.

  • Represent the product area with executive leadership and, when appropriate, with customers and external market stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of professional product management experience.

  • Demonstrated success owning a B2B or enterprise SaaS product line with accountability for meaningful business and product outcomes, rather than feature delivery alone.

  • Strong ability to develop product strategy using market data, customer research, competitive insights, and unit economics.

  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex product decisions and trade-offs clearly to executive audiences.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving environments and helping establish product operating models and processes.

  • Proven experience partnering closely with engineering teams on complex platforms, data-intensive products, or technically sophisticated solutions.

  • Strong customer discovery, analytical, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution and maintain accountability for results.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills across sales, marketing, engineering, operations, delivery, and executive leadership.

  • Preferred: experience in legal technology, eDiscovery, compliance, information governance, or another regulated-industry software environment.

  • Preferred: experience taking AI or machine learning capabilities from early concepts or demonstrations through evaluation, productization, commercialization, and adoption.

  • Preferred: experience working in an organization transitioning from a services-led model to a product-led model or within a private-equity-backed growth environment.

  • Preferred: familiarity with enterprise data platforms, security and privacy requirements, and large-scale client data environments.

Benefits:
  • Senior leadership opportunity with significant ownership of product strategy, roadmap, execution, and commercial outcomes.

  • Remote work opportunity within the United States.

  • Opportunity to influence the development and commercialization of enterprise software products.

  • Exposure to legal technology, eDiscovery, enterprise data, and emerging AI/ML capabilities.

  • Opportunity to build and mentor a product management team and strengthen product practices across the organization.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, sales, marketing, operations, delivery, and executive leadership.

  • Environment emphasizing client focus, collaboration, innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

  • Opportunity to help shape product strategy during a significant transition toward a software- and product-led operating model.

  • Employment with an organization committed to equal opportunity and a diverse, inclusive workplace.
