Technical Product Owner (Contract)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Product Owner (Contract) based in United States.

The Technical Product Owner will play a key role in advancing a large-scale omni-channel communications platform within a dynamic financial services environment.
This position bridges business strategy and technical execution, ensuring teams deliver scalable, customer-focused digital solutions.
You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, quality assurance, and business stakeholders to define priorities and drive successful product outcomes.
The role requires strong Agile delivery expertise, technical understanding, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions.
You will help shape product roadmaps, optimize platform capabilities, and improve customer experiences through continuous innovation.

Accountabilities

The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for guiding product delivery, managing technical priorities, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the Technical Product Owner for an omni-channel communications platform, acting as the connection point between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business and technical requirements to support effective product decisions.
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and development-ready backlog items.
  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business goals, technical strategy, and delivery timelines.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, QA teams, and business partners to deliver reliable, high-quality platform enhancements.
  • Monitor platform performance, product metrics, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support long-term product planning, feature prioritization, and technical roadmap development.
  • Create and maintain business documentation, technical specifications, and product-related materials.
  • Identify delivery risks, remove blockers, and support teams in achieving successful execution.
  • Promote continuous improvement by evaluating processes, platform capabilities, and user needs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical product background, experience working in Agile environments, and the ability to successfully manage complex digital initiatives. Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, Platform Owner, or similar technical product leadership role.
  • Experience managing enterprise platforms and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience working with Salesforce.
  • Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management and delivery tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative product delivery.
  • Experience working with Azure environments, including AKS on Azure.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD workflows, and software delivery processes.
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration abilities across technical and business teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively within complex enterprise environments.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, wealth management, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of life insurance processes and customer communication platforms.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps and managing technical platform improvements.
  • Background working within large-scale Agile organizations.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
