The Senior Business Development Director - RWD Licensing will lead strategic growth initiatives by developing partnerships, expanding existing business opportunities, and managing complex sales processes. This role requires strong commercial leadership, healthcare market knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to achieve business objectives.
- Lead business development strategies focused on market expansion, revenue growth, client diversification, and long-term customer value.
- Manage complex consultative sales cycles, including opportunity development, proposal creation, executive presentations, contract negotiations, and successful client handoffs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, including Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders at major organizations.
- Drive cross-sell and up-sell opportunities while ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans that support revenue, margin, market penetration, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Collaborate with implementation, product, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful delivery of expanded or newly developed business.
- Track and report business development performance metrics, including pipeline activity, conversion rates, costs, and financial outcomes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to business development teams through coaching, collaboration, and strategic support.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and product enhancement opportunities that improve competitiveness and business performance.
- Ensure all activities follow healthcare industry standards, regulatory requirements, confidentiality obligations, and organizational policies.
- Support strategic initiatives that strengthen market reputation, operational effectiveness, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate brings extensive business development experience, strong healthcare industry knowledge, and the ability to manage high-value strategic relationships and complex commercial engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience leading business development, strategic sales, or consultative growth initiatives within healthcare, technology, data, analytics, or related industries.
- Strong track record managing complex sales processes involving lead generation, proposals, executive presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with senior decision-makers, including executives and enterprise-level clients.
- Deep understanding of healthcare organizations, particularly health plans, healthcare data, or real-world evidence solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and influence stakeholders across different functions.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and disciplined execution.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a professional and executive presence.
- Experience using business productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word at an advanced level.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment with strong ownership and accountability.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% for client meetings, conferences, and business development activities.
- Competitive base compensation range of $170,900–$200,000 USD, with potential performance-based incentives.
