Maintenance Mechanic in Groton, Connecticut at Electric Boat

In this role the successful applicant must be proficient in performing repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting on machinery, mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, and production machines, using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Working in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer specifications is required
• Applicant will be required to observe/listen to all machinery/operating mechanics, equipment, motors, while troubleshooting
• Small steel fabrication projects will also be required, i.e., repair/fabrication of stairs and platforms
• Applicant must be able to work independently and within a team environment while complying with department and company procedures
• Applicant must be able to work overtime when required, support emergency situations as they arise and support department goals

Required:

• HS Diploma or GED OR 2 or more years of related technical experience
• 5+ years of mechanical/hydraulic experience in industrial and/or commercial environments

Preferred:

• Mechanical training certificate(s)
• Trade/technical school experience
