Job Description
SUMMARY
To provide and maintain an engaging, positive presence throughout the fitness center, ensuring members are engaged in a safe, productive workout, in a well maintained facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:
- Greet and accommodate members and their guests as they make use of the fitness center facility. Engaging members, ensuring all feel as welcomed as possible.
- Assist gym-goers with use of the fitness equipment – ensuring safe, efficient use.
- Ensuring all working out have water, hand towels, and any other supporting equipment as desired.
- Providing ongoing orientation of the gym facility to Club Members.
- Ensuring all fitness center facilities are maintained in the cleanest, most orderly fashion at all times. Wiping down equipment, organizing weight room and ensuring all equipment maintenance is kept up.
- Assisting with general front desk receptionist duties: answering phones and taking messages in a supportive role of the primary front desk team.
- Supporting all departmental associates as needed, helping personal trainers, group exercise instructors, front desk, café attendants, as well as all inter-departmental support staff as needed.
- Assist with client/member scheduling, booking and collection of fees.
- Maintaining inventory as needed – and accurately reporting any service/repair or ordering needs in a timely fashion.
- Offering client/member tours, consultations and discussions on the Lifestyle Enhancement services ORCFC offers. Making sure they have a full understanding of the Personal Services the Fitness Center offers.
- Activity soliciting member feedback and communicating to departmental supervisors and managers member thoughts and opinions on an ongoing basis.
- Supporting with the brainstorming for ideas on packages, aerobic classes, and special events.
- Keeping towels stocked , bathrooms and clean. Maintaining a relationship with housekeeping, making sure amenities are stocked.
- Making sure files are updated and members are in computer correctly.
QUALIFICATIONS. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Experience in a Front Desk/Receptionist position within a Resort/Health Club.
- He or She must posses the bed-side manner and proper hygiene and portray the confidence, knowledge, patience and positive mental attitude that it takes to be a receptionist.
- He or She should understand ORCFC objectives and have the potential to help clients and members achieve their goals.
- He or She should have the general knowledge in computer data input necessary to check-in, charge, schedule and book member related services.
- Basic knowledge of e-mail, Word, Excel and Windows
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. High school diploma required. At least one year experience as in the hospitality industry preferred.
LANGUAGE. Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. CPR/First Aid preferred

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.
Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.
As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
