POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: MAINTENANCE WORKER
Salary: $16/HR- $21/HR
Department: Environmental Services
Reports to: Director of Environmental Services
Position Information: Full Time, 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday (no weekends)
Position Description
This position assists with all aspects of building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance including unit inspections, preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance.
Essential Functions
Follow oral directionsFollow written directionsUnderstand major building systemsMake repairs to facility equipment and fixtures, including vehicle maintenanceFollow the preventative maintenance programTrain with the Maintenance Technician/Director of Environmental Services on HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing and attain the skills to independently perform these dutiesAssist with maintaining the overall condition of the building and groundsPerform waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policyAttend in-service training programsBe available and respond to facility emergencies including on-call proceduresObserve infection control procedures related to the Maintenance DepartmentCome to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality per the established scheduleComply with safety, fire, protection and prevention programs by inspecting work areas and equipment in maintenance, laundry and housekeepingPersonally perform all maintenance tasks and functions, routine, emergency, preventative, and otherwise including unit inspectionsMonitor all building systems to ensure continuous operations and efficient usageServe on an on-call basis and respond to campus, equipment, and building emergencies on a timely basis. Carry cell phone and be available for emergency calls 24/7Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctualityAccept assigned duties in a cooperative mannerAlways Adhere to Residents’ Rights policiesAssume accountability for data contained in the Staff HandbookRelate to residents, families, and staff in a friendly, courteous and helpful mannerParticipate in committee and events on and off the campusUnderstand and comply with the Corporate Compliance ProgramKnow, understand and exemplify the Mission and Values of Jennings: Respect, Compassion, Community, Discovery of Potential and Celebration of LifePerform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental ServicesQualifications
High School Diploma or GEDExperience with major building systems maintenanceKnowledge of safety regulations pertaining to building and life safety codesHVAC certification preferredDemonstrated or capable of learning electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skillsUnderstands and communicates job related information and directions in EnglishOccupational Qualifications
