Job Overview:

The Data Engineer supports the enterprise Data and Analytics team and key technologies including cloud enterprise data warehouse (EDW) (Snowflake), local database servers (Microsoft SQL), data integration tools (HVR, Striim, SSIS) and associated data and infrastructure tools (AWS, Tableau, R, Python). This individual functions as part of a team supporting data infrastructure, architecture, transformation, master data management, and other technical areas within the organization. This individual will use and promote industry technology standards, tools, and best practices for data management. Duties also include management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing data project needs assessments. The individual must maintain a good understanding of full stack software technologies/frameworks and have a passion to learn new technologies.

Qualifications:

Education

Minimum: Bachelor s degree

Work Experience:

Mid-level Experience in a data engineering, or ETL Developer, or similar role

Knowledge of SQL Query language

Data integration knowledge (SSIS or Informatica or similar ETL tools)

Knowledge of data acquisition through API/REST/JSON, NoSQL, RDBMS,

Exposure and hands-on experience of SQL, SSIS, and DBA related tasks

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred: Professional certifications in traditional database management as well as cloud platform certifications

Key Competencies

Mid-level Experience working with databases and data management

Mid-level knowledge of SQL, relational database design, SSIS, Talend experience is a plus

Adaptability/flexibility: demonstrating flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs

Critical thinking: the ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible

Dependability: the ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner

Designing Data Management Solutions:

Developing and building reliable data transformation solutions

Monitor and maintain high data availability

Issue Resolution and Project Management:

Identifying issues that arise in the data management systems as well as issues that impact other application teams

Perform other duties as assigned
