You will coordinate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Performance, developers, designers, and external partners. A major focus will be building scalable workflows, reducing operational risk, and improving execution speed and quality. You will also use analytics, automation, and AI-powered tools to increase team productivity and operational consistency. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly organized, data-driven operator who thrives in a high-growth, high-accountability environment.
- E-commerce Operations & Platform Management: Own the Shopify and Shopify Plus ecosystem, including product catalogs, collections, tags, product logic, pages, integrations, apps, and overall site health, ensuring the platform operates reliably with minimal leadership dependency.
- E-commerce Governance: Establish and continuously improve structured Stage → Approve → Test → Deploy processes, including QA gates, stakeholder approvals, release standards, documentation, and operational controls designed to minimize launch defects and deployment risk.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately five employees and contractors across UX, copywriting, development, and e-commerce operations, establishing clear priorities, accountability, performance expectations, and development plans.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Performance, and other stakeholders to coordinate site updates, product launches, campaigns, and operational initiatives from planning through post-launch validation.
- Product Launches: Own the operational execution of e-commerce launches, ensuring assets, systems, teams, approvals, deployments, and post-launch checks are fully coordinated and delivered on schedule.
- Project & Workflow Management: Establish repeatable SOPs, training materials, project workflows, and operating processes that improve execution consistency across internal teams and external partners.
- Performance Management: Define and monitor operational KPIs such as deployment velocity, launch quality, approval-to-live cycle time, site health, and operational efficiency, providing leadership with clear reporting on progress, risks, blockers, and opportunities.
- Process Optimization: Audit existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, improve operational efficiency, and manage the technology stack to ensure tools and subscriptions remain effective and cost-efficient.
- Systems & Integrations: Evaluate, configure, test, and deploy Shopify apps, integrations, automations, and new capabilities that improve checkout, upsells, subscriptions, customer experience, and platform performance.
- AI & Automation: Use advanced AI platforms to streamline reporting, documentation, SOP creation, briefs, QA checklists, communications, and recurring workflows, while identifying additional opportunities to automate manual processes and improve team velocity.
- Operational Problem Solving: Monitor site and platform health, rapidly identify issues, coordinate resolution with technical and business teams, and implement preventative measures to improve long-term stability.
- Experience: 6+ years of e-commerce operations experience, ideally within a DTC or high-growth consumer brand, with at least 2 years of formal people-management responsibility.
- Platform Expertise: Proven hands-on experience managing Shopify and Shopify Plus, as well as Amazon stores, including product catalogs, platform configuration, integrations, and operational workflows.
- E-commerce Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Klaviyo, Loop or Recharge, After-Sell, Looker, and Triple Whale, with experience using technology to improve operational performance.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead remote or distributed teams, conduct performance reviews, coach employees, manage accountability, and coordinate internal and external contributors.
- Project Management: Strong experience managing complex e-commerce projects, launches, deployments, and cross-functional initiatives from planning through completion.
- Launch & Governance Expertise: Experience owning end-to-end DTC product launches and operating within, improving, or building formal release-management processes involving staging, QA, approvals, deployment, and post-launch validation.
- Data & Analytics: A data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret operational metrics, build or manage reporting dashboards, identify bottlenecks, and translate insights into practical decisions.
- AI Proficiency: Professional experience using paid AI platforms such as ChatGPT Plus/Team, Claude Pro/Team, Gemini Advanced, or equivalent tools to improve workflows, documentation, reporting, and decision-making in an e-commerce or DTC environment.
- Operational Excellence: Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of execution.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, manage remote teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Calm under pressure, proactive, accountable, and capable of independently diagnosing operational issues and driving them through resolution.
- Preferred: Experience with international Shopify operations, multi-currency stores, localized pages, duties, ERP or inventory systems, high-volume product launches, rapid creative testing, and the health, wellness, or supplement industry.
- Work Environment: Ability to work across U.S. time zones, maintain a reliable internet connection and distraction-free remote workspace, and travel occasionally, potentially up to six times per year.
- Salary: $125,000–$165,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
