Technical Director

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Director based in the United States.

This is a senior technical leadership opportunity within the animal health and agri-tech sector, focused on advancing clean feed technologies and technical excellence.
You will provide scientific and technical expertise that supports customers, sales teams, and strategic growth initiatives across North America.
The role combines customer engagement, industry leadership, research support, technical communication, and sales enablement.
You will build relationships with veterinarians, nutritionists, industry influencers, research institutions, and professional associations.
Your expertise will help introduce new products and concepts, strengthen value propositions, and address technical and market opportunities.
You will also contribute to field trials, technical publications, training programs, and data analysis while collaborating closely with sales and marketing.
This remote role offers significant visibility and influence, with regular travel to customers, industry events, and strategic meetings.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including veterinarians and nutritionists, as well as industry influencers, key opinion leaders, research institutions, and regional and national industry associations.
  • Lead strategic technical initiatives designed to strengthen market presence, customer value, and industry engagement.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to sales teams during virtual and in-person customer and prospect meetings.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations at customer meetings, prospect engagements, industry events, and other targeted forums.
  • Develop technical content, including bulletins, scientific papers, product-support materials, and other resources that communicate product value and technical differentiation.
  • Identify technical or value gaps and develop plans to address them through third-party research, complementary products, internal research, field trials, or technical publications.
  • Participate actively in relevant professional and industry associations to strengthen relationships and maintain awareness of market developments.
  • Partner with Marketing to align technical content, campaign messaging, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate customer, prospect, and key influencer records and interactions within Salesforce CRM and contribute to technical reporting and dashboards.
  • Assess technical training needs across the sales organization and facilitate or deliver training programs to strengthen technical capabilities.
  • Prepare technical reports and develop protocols for field trials and research initiatives.
  • Analyze, organize, and interpret trial data to generate actionable insights for research, customer support, and sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate across technical, sales, marketing, and other functions to achieve customer and product objectives.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Poultry Science or Animal Science, or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • 5+ years of experience within the poultry or swine industry, with practical knowledge of the poultry sector, its structure, market dynamics, and key industry influencers.
  • Demonstrated success in technical services, particularly in introducing new products, technologies, or concepts to targeted customers or markets in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
  • Strong technical and scientific foundation, with the ability to write, execute, analyze, and present research protocols and trial results.
  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, compelling presentations and customer-facing recommendations.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to build trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional environments and aligning technical initiatives with commercial and customer objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage resources effectively while remaining flexible and responsive to changing market needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings, industry events, technical presentations, and other business activities.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce for documenting customer interactions and managing technical activities is an advantage.
