Renewal Account Executive - Mid Market

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Renewal Account Executive - Mid Market based in Canada.

This is a high-impact commercial role focused on protecting and expanding a portfolio of strategic mid-market customer accounts. You will lead renewal strategy across 50–75 accounts per quarter, managing complex negotiations and high-value contracts. The role combines revenue retention, customer relationship management, forecasting, and expansion identification. You will work closely with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Deal Desk, Legal, and Finance to deliver strong commercial outcomes. Success requires a balance of strategic account management, disciplined execution, and the ability to communicate business value to diverse stakeholders. This is an opportunity to join a high-performance environment while directly influencing long-term customer relationships and recurring revenue growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the Canadian Mid-Market renewal portfolio, acting as the primary commercial lead for approximately 50–75 renewals per quarter and managing accounts ranging from $25K to $300K+.
  • Lead the full renewal cycle, including quoting, commercial strategy, negotiations, internal approvals, contract execution, and closing, with a focus on securing favourable terms and minimizing financial attrition.
  • Prioritize and negotiate 36-month renewal agreements to strengthen long-term customer relationships and maximize lifetime value.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Canadian business landscape, regional industries, market trends, and competitive environment to inform renewal strategies.
  • Proactively identify churn risks and develop creative strategies to retain customers and defend the existing business footprint.
  • Reconfirm the customer’s business case at renewal by clearly communicating return on investment, operational value, and the long-term benefits of the partnership.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records and pipeline data, ensuring reliable forecasting, visibility into territory risks, and predictable commercial outcomes.
  • Provide scenario-based forecasts and data-driven insights to leadership while maintaining strong pipeline discipline and deal execution.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to identify expansion opportunities and create a coordinated customer experience across retention and growth activities.
  • Collaborate with Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, and other internal teams to navigate complex procurement requirements, custom terms, approvals, and negotiations.
  • Manage high-value and strategically important accounts with a high-touch approach while efficiently prioritizing the broader book of business.
  • Share customer insights, market intelligence, best practices, and renewal learnings with the broader commercial organization.
  • Take full ownership of territory health, retention performance, customer outcomes, and achievement of renewal targets.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in full-cycle closing, strategic renewals, or a comparable commercial sales role managing Mid-Market or Commercial accounts.
  • Proven experience managing significant commercial targets, including a track record of handling $1M+ in quarterly quota and deal sizes above $100K.
  • Strong familiarity with the Canadian business environment; experience with industries such as transportation, construction, field services, or other physical-operations sectors is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex renewal or “save” cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement teams, legal requirements, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to confidently defend customer value while securing favourable commercial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior business and operational stakeholders and communicate ROI effectively to both financial and operational audiences.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Salesforce and a highly disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a large portfolio while dedicating strategic attention to high-value accounts.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially driven, resilient, competitive, and comfortable operating in a high-performance environment.
  • Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to work independently, move with urgency, and remain accountable for outcomes.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across Sales, Customer Success, Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, and other internal teams.
  • Growth mindset, curiosity, and genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate and how technology can create measurable operational value.
Benefits
  • Annual on-target earnings (OTE) of $104,550–$135,300 USD, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Total compensation combining base salary, performance-based bonus or variable pay, and equity for eligible roles.
  • Opportunity for above-market compensation and differentiated earning potential based on performance.
  • Flexible, employee-led remote working model, with office-based options where applicable.
  • Professional development stipend to support continued learning and career growth.
  • Comprehensive health and parental leave plans.
  • Opportunity to work in a high-performance, growth-oriented environment surrounded by experienced commercial and technical professionals.
  • Exposure to strategic customers and complex commercial negotiations across important industries that support the global economy.
  • Inclusive workplace focused on belonging, equal opportunity, and enabling people from diverse backgrounds to make an impact.
  • Reasonable accommodations available throughout the recruiting process for qualified candidates with disabilities.
