Cardiac Rehab Spec in Odessa, Texas at Medical Center Hospital

Position Summary:

Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates the cardiac rehabilitation activities which includes education, psychological and emotional support to client and family. Assists in the development of exercise plan and supervision of exercise therapy.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science or comparable educational preparation.

Training and Experience:

1. BLS within 90 days of hire.

2. ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.

3. Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.

4. Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia within 1 year of employment.

5.Completion of Hospital orientation within 3 months of hire.

6.Complete the following policies within 3 months of hire.
•Unit orientation
•Unit safety
•Attendance requirements
•Demonstrate appropriate documentation
•Demonstrate effective time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
•Demonstrate accuracy in performing technical skills
•Properly educate patients
•Integrate proper age specific care
•Demonstrate professional communication
•Participate in code blue
•Restraint training

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Able to work under stressful conditions.
B. Much walking required.
C. Flexible working hours may be required.
