JOB OVERVIEW
The Director of Sales is accountable for the strategic oversight and execution of all sales initiatives for The Lodge at Jackson Hole in Jackson, Wyoming. This senior leadership role is charged with driving top-line revenue growth, optimizing market segmentation, and ensuring full alignment with brand standards and overarching business objectives for each property. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in luxury service environments, with the ability to craft and implement differentiated sales strategies that honor the distinct market positioning and guest experience of the hotel.
The Director of Sales will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing and account management, while working closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of group, corporate, and individual bookings. This position requires a proactive, results-driven professional with strong local market knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to represent the hotel with professionalism and creativity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategic Sales Leadership
· Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with property's brand positioning and overall business objectives.
· Oversee all sales segments including group, transient, corporate, and leisure
· Lead the creation and execution of annual sales plans, segment-specific action plans, and budgets for each property.
· Conduct regular competitive set analysis and local market reviews to identify growth opportunities.
Team Development and Performance Management
· Recruit, lead, mentor, and inspire sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and professional development initiatives
Account Management & Client Development
· Cultivate relationships with key accounts, travel advisors, corporate clients, group planners, and travel consortia.
· Personally manage accounts and oversee the handling of all RFPs and contracts.
· Represent the properties at tradeshows, client events, networking functions, and sales missions.
· Prepares for site visits, arranging take-away gifts, inspecting guest rooms and sending site alerts to all departments
· Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners, agents, and potential clients
· Coordinates hotel arrangements including menu selections, meeting room set-ups, AV needs, billing requirements and guest room accommodations per client’s requests
· Prepares banquet event orders, resumes and rooming lists to clearly communicate with all departments
· Actively prospect and solicit new business while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
Revenue Generation
· Partner with revenue management to optimize pricing, distribution, and channel performance
· Monitor sales KPIs and pacing reports, adjusting strategy as needed.
Operational Collaboration
· Partner closely with General Manager and Operations to ensure that sales strategies align with guest experience standards and property capabilities.
· Champion property-specific initiatives, events, packages, and local partnerships that elevate visibility and drive demand.

Requirements:ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- College graduate or equivalent industry experience
- Two years experience in sales, preferably at Marriott branded property
- Extensive knowledge of sales and revenue management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Time Management skills to complete all work in allotted time
- Ability to multitask
- Strong customer service aptitude
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of budgetary and fiscal responsibility within the department
- Familiarity with all operational areas of the properties
- Excellent attention to details to meet both internal and external client needs
- Excellent problem resolution skills
- Be an active team player, working with minimal supervision
- Possess sales and upselling skills to increase revenue
- Ability to develop and execute annual business plans with all supporting documentation in a timely manner
