The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Clinical Registered Nurse - Urgent Care. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.

This position is for the Trinity Health Center.

JOB SUMMARY:

The clinical Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role focuses on urgent care, providing rapid assessment, prioritization, and treatment of acute, non-life-threatening conditions while supporting providers and ensuring efficient clinic flow. The RN plays a key role in real-time communication and coordination of workflow, helping determine patient capacity and supporting safe, efficient patient volumes.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (urgent care, emergency, or outpatient setting preferred).
  4. Experience with triage and acute patient care strongly preferred.
  5. Wound care certification is strongly desired and preferred.
  6. Proficiency in IV insertion, management, and medication administration.
  7. Experience or ability in managing clinic flow and team communication preferred.
  8. Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical workflows. Ability to work flexible schedules.
  9. Manual dexterity for clinical procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care based on acuity.
  2. Obtain and document accurate patient histories (including HPI) and vital signs.
  3. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  4. Administer medications, injections, and IV therapies per protocol and provider orders.
  5. Perform clinical procedures (e.g. wound care, splinting, EKGs, point-of-care testing).
  6. Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  7. Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the medical record (SOAP format).
  8. Educate patients and families on diagnosis, medications, provider/treatment instructions, and follow-up care.
  9. Act as a central communication point between providers, medical assistants (MA), and front office staff regarding patient status and clinic flow.
  10. Continuously assess patient volume, acuity, and throughput to support real-time decision making.
  11. Collaborate with the care team to determine when additional patients can be safely accommodated or when the clinic has reached capacity.
  12. Communicate clearly and proactively regarding delays, bottlenecks, and changes in workflow.
  13. Facilitate efficient patient movement from check-in to check-out by anticipating needs and addressing barriers.
  14. Escalate concerns related to patient safety, staffing, or flow to appropriate leadership.
  15. Support a team-based approach to maintaining steady, safe, and efficient urgent care operations.
  16. Respond to urgent or emergent situations and initiate appropriate interventions.
