Front Desk Attendant
I. JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Physical Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout the club and equipment.
- Physical ability to complete assigned cleaning tasks.
Skills & Competencies
- Provide basic equipment assistance.
- Demonstrate competence in the operation of basic office equipment: phone, fax machine, computer, copy machine, etc.
- Consistently complete simple mathematics functions.
- Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and consistency in: arriving on time, attending meetings, completing assigned tasks, and communicating all concerns and messages to managers.
- Possess problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate self-motivating and self-directed behavior such as seeking out additional duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, and members.
- Successful completion of Manage Staff training, drug testing, and the Mountainside Training Program.
II. JOB-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Member & Guest Service
- Maintain and enforce the safety of members and guests.
- Attend to the needs of members and guests, providing excellent and friendly customer service by:
- Checking in all who enter the club, greeting them by name with a smile and taking pictures if needed.
- Maintaining an adequate supply of towels.
- Assisting members with equipment usage.
- Scheduling tanning, massage, and assessment appointments.
- Ringing in purchases for clothing, tanning, programs, and miscellaneous items.
- Providing answers to general questions from members and guests, or promptly seeking out an answer.
- Learn and use the telephone properly and only for business purposes.
- Follow the Chain of Command by referring all tours, membership sign-ups, cancellations, account change forms, and billing problems to the appropriate person.
Attendance & Appearance
- Prompt arrival for shift — recommended arriving 10 minutes prior to start.
- Dress according to club policy to present a conservative and professional look.
- Avoid absenteeism and follow department protocol for time off, shift changes, and illness.
- Follow proper procedure for clocking in and out for all shifts.
Administrative & Operational
- Charge and collect the correct fees for all payments and purchases.
- Complete appropriate paperwork accurately: incident reports, equipment repairs.
- Maintain a clean front desk area and work cooperatively with co-workers to complete various cleaning lists.
- Follow opening and closing procedures (no before- or after-hours workouts).
- Follow procedures for drawer reconciliation on every shift.
- Attend all staff meetings and read Spike at the beginning of every shift.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as specified by the Employee Handbook.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
III. OTHER
- Report directly to Supervisor or General Manager.
Location:
- The hours required for this position may change as needed with advance notice.
- Performance reviews conducted twice per year by Supervisor or Manager.
- Progressive disciplinary procedures — at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager — may include employee counseling, verbal warnings, probation, and termination.
