As a Charge Nurse at Alsana, you will provide clinical leadership and oversight during assigned shifts within the residential treatment setting. This position is responsible for coordinating nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care, and supporting compliance with established clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards. The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical resource for nursing staff and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary treatment team members to promote patient safety, continuity of care, and positive treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing staff during assigned shifts.
Coordinate daily nursing operations to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care delivery.
Serve as the primary clinical resource and point of escalation for nursing staff.
Complete nursing assessments and monitor patients for medical, psychiatric, and behavioral changes.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, intake and output, weights, and other clinical indicators.
Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, dietitians, and other treatment team members to support individualized treatment plans.
Communicate significant changes in patient condition and treatment concerns to appropriate team members.
Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning activities.
Assist nursing leadership with quality improvement initiatives, audits, and regulatory readiness activities.
Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, state licensing requirements, HIPAA regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required.
Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, residential treatment, substance use treatment, or eating disorder treatment preferred.
Previous Charge Nurse, Lead Nurse, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge of nursing practices, medication administration, and patient assessment principles.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and coordinate patient care activities.
