This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Telephony & Defender 365 Specialist based in Canada.
This role is focused on modernizing enterprise communications and strengthening cloud-based security capabilities.
You’ll contribute to the transition from traditional on-premises telephony environments to scalable cloud solutions.
The position combines unified communications expertise with Microsoft 365 and Defender for Office 365 security knowledge.
You’ll help shape technical roadmaps, architectural approaches, implementation plans, and operational improvements.
Your work will support critical telephony use cases, including call centers, emergency services, compliance recording, and end-user communications.
You’ll collaborate with technical teams and program leadership in a technology-focused environment where reliability, security, and best practices are key.
The role is ideal for a senior specialist who can provide practical technical guidance while helping drive cloud transformation initiatives.
- Support cloud telephony transformation: Assist technical teams with architectural designs, implementation plans, deployment, and transition activities as organizations move from on-premises telephony platforms to cloud-based solutions.
- Provide technology advisory services: Help establish strategic roadmaps for cloud telephony and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, incorporating industry best practices and evolving technology capabilities.
- Support unified communications operations: Contribute to operational priorities involving telephony resilience, end-user communication requirements, call center environments, compliance recording, and emergency communication use cases such as 911.
- Contribute to technical planning: Provide expertise and recommendations related to unified communications, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, cloud telephony, and email security architectures.
- Support implementation and transition activities: Help technical teams address deployment considerations, integration requirements, operational readiness, and transition from legacy systems to cloud-based services.
- Promote security and resilience: Apply appropriate security, availability, and hardening principles across telephony, collaboration, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Deliver technical documentation and project outputs: Contribute to required deliverables, technical recommendations, roadmaps, and other activities associated with the collaboration technology program.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work under the direction of program leadership and alongside technical specialists to address priorities and deliver effective technology solutions.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience with unified communications solutions, including Cisco on-premises technologies such as CUCM, UCCX, and CER.
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 SaaS solutions, including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud-based telephony solutions, including Direct Routing as a Service, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams-based telephony.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and related email security and hardening technologies.
- Strong understanding of email security technologies and protocols, including email gateways, internal relays, DMARC, DKIM, and SPF.
- Ability to contribute to enterprise architecture, technical roadmaps, implementation planning, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong understanding of telephony resilience, call center requirements, compliance recording, and emergency communication use cases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, program managers, and other stakeholders in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently, provide informed technical recommendations, and adapt to evolving technology priorities.
