Job Description
Job Summary
Performs a variety of tasks and duties related to housekeeping, patient transport and patient positioning in the operating room.

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions
Primarily Works in a well-lighted and air-conditioned environment with period of heavy workload and stress. This role may include working in less-than-ideal home conditions, which can include exposure to extreme temperatures and environments that may not meet typical cleanliness standards such as clutter, unkept surfaces, and homes with pets. Works in various conditions.

Computer Knowledge & Electronic Equipment Use: Demonstrates ability to consistently utilize electronic equipment and online computer programs to perform job duties, including electronic documentation, and order entry.
Resource Utilization: Consistently utilizes and maintains supplies and equipment to minimize lost charges and unnecessary equipment repair-replacement.
Confidentiality: Adheres to established policies on privacy and security requirements for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as applicable by Shannon Policy.
Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions
- Maintains floors in a clean and safe condition by dry mopping and wet mopping, pays attention to details, moves furniture, cleans underneath furniture and uses the correct chemicals; spot cleans walls, counters, windows, furniture and doors using the correct chemicals.
- Cleans rooms and empties trash according to infection control policies; removes dust from all surfaces and equipment; cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures; cleans and makes beds using clean lines; replenishes supplies in restrooms and patient rooms; moves and removes and relocates furniture to assist in operating room set up.
- Operates cleaning equipment which may include vacuums; demonstrates knowledge of surgical tables and accessories; reports any maintenance repairs to the maintenance department and follows up to insure the repairs have been made.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Certification/Licensure:
- Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
