Line Leader II

The Line Leader II located in Grandview, MO reports to our Production Supervisor and is responsible for leading and assisting all production assembly classifications in assembly operations and set-up assembly stations, improve processes and efficiency, and perform assembly work when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assign assembler to stations as required to provide scheduled production in accordance with orders received from the Plant Manager or General Supervisor; responsible for maintaining a minimal "Late List".
  • Direct various set-up activities which include obtaining necessary parts and assembly jigs for each station, instruct assemblers in the methods of assembly and provide hand tools as required.
  • Field sales and customer questions regarding lead-time estimates, problem solving, and installation or feasibility questions.
  • Assist in successful implementation of new or revised products into assembly.
  • Assist in production of engineering prototyping and custom samples for sales.
  • Quality Control of assembled parts to assure conformance with quality requirements; instruct personnel concerning errors or adjustments necessary in the assembly process, information appropriate Engineering if necessary.
  • Maintain assembly prints and B.O.M.'s; record simple data for cost purposes concerning labor charged against individual orders.
  • Advise M.R.P. personnel of inventory records involving minimums and maximums to prevent material shortages; maintain a proper blue card system in accordance with goals of Stock Room and MRP system.
  • Advise Supervisor of part shortages, aid in expediting part, and prepare lead-time estimates and completion time of various assembly orders to determine labor need and availability and plan reassignment to various stations.
  • Schedule and release weekly customer orders (S.L.S.) and AS400 Warehouse Requirement I.P.'s.
  • Maintain production time, attendance, and other records and charts on line performance.
  • When necessary, request maintenance assistance; operate forklift, keep the assembly area neat and orderly by directing sweeping and cleaning activities, and the return of unused parts to inventory.
