Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Residential Access Control Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing entry to our residential community, ensuring the safety and security of residents, guests, and staff. This role requires excellent judgment, a customer-service mindset, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure, welcoming living environment. As a Residential Access Control Officer, you will serve as the first point of contact for residents and visitors while protecting the community from unauthorized access.
Responsibilities• Monitor and control resident, guest, and vendor access at building or community entry points.
• Verify visitor identities, confirm resident authorization, and maintain accurate visitor and vendor logs.
• Issue, track, and deactivate resident key fobs, access cards, and parking passes in accordance with property policies.
• Operate gate, intercom, and access control systems, including card readers, keypads, and video entry systems.
• Greet residents and guests in a courteous, professional manner, providing a welcoming first impression of the community.
• Respond promptly to access alarms, gate malfunctions, or unauthorized entry attempts.
• Coordinate deliveries, service providers, and contractor access in line with resident preferences and property guidelines.
• Enforce community rules regarding guest access, parking, and common area use.
• Document incidents, access violations, and unusual activity, preparing reports for property management review.
• Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to resolve access-related issues.
• Participate in training on access control systems, emergency procedures, and resident service standards.
Qualifications• Valid Florida Class D security license in good standing.
• Experience with residential access control or visitor management systems preferred.
• Familiarity with gate, intercom, or video entry systems is an asset.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment in verifying access authorization.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and access records.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
