Job Description

Description:

The Therapy Coordinator supports the coordination of therapy services, including authorizations, referrals and intake, coordination of care, and therapist/patient relations. This role serves as a key point of contact for therapists and families while promoting timely communication, accurate documentation, and efficient therapy operations.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

1. Coordinate therapy services, including authorizations, referrals/intake, insurance denials and coordination of care.

2. Serve as a liaison between the agency, therapists, patients, and caregivers.

3. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with therapists.

4. Coordinate medical records, data entry, authorization review, and related therapy processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

5. Monitor workflows, identify concerns, and assist with implementing solutions.

6. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and organization.

7. Communicate important patient, therapist, and operational updates to management.

8. Maintain timely and professional communication with families, therapists, insurance representatives, and internal teams.

9. Perform all duties in accordance with agency policies, payer requirements, and professional standards.

10. Demonstrate initiative in meeting goals and improving therapy coordination processes.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.

2. Previous experience supporting healthcare or therapy operations preferred.

3. Bilingual English/Spanish required; must fluently speak, read, and write both languages.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

5. Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

7. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Environmental Elements
