Join Our Team
We're looking for a motivated, customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to help lead one of our hospital gift shops. In this role, you'll support the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, provide leadership to the team, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. When the Store Manager is unavailable, you'll step into the leadership role and oversee all store operations.
- Position is for 35 hours a week.

As a valued partner of the hospitals we serve, all candidates selected for employment must successfully complete any required hospital occupational health screenings and onboarding requirements before beginning work. Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting all applicable hospital onboarding and occupational health requirements.
Specifically for this position the required hospital testing is:
- Immunization Records (as listed below):
- MMR titers
- Tdap titers
- Varicella titers
- Tuberculosis Screening
- Influenza Vaccine

What You'll Do
- Support the daily operation of the gift shop and provide leadership during assigned shifts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and assist customers with purchases and product recommendations.
- Help drive sales by supporting merchandising, promotions, and team performance.
- Assist with training, coaching, and developing team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, hospital requirements, and operational standards.
- Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, and merchandising.
- Accurately process sales transactions and oversee cash handling procedures.
- Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including securing the store.
- In the absence of the Store Manager, oversee store operations, prepare bank deposits, and ensure the store is properly staffed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more years of retail experience preferred.
- Previous cash handling experience preferred.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example and support a positive team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic math skills and cash handling accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position.
