Patient Registrar Float at North Kansas City Hospital – North Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Patient Access Supervisor, register is responsible for registering inpatients, outpatients, and emergency services patients by recording medical, demographic, and financial information. Helps department maintain minimum staffing requirements by filling in departments that require registration functions, daily assignment will flex. Generate and collect estimated patient financial responsibility based on services being rendered. Validate bedded patient�s demographic and insurance selection based on a subset of criteria and factors. Demonstrate effective and professional communication and customer service skills with coworkers and patients.

EXPERIENCE: General office experience/education required. Computer experience required. Prior registration experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Typing/keyboarding skills required. Customer service skills required. Medical terminology preferred.

OTHER: Available to work within a 24-hour hospital setting. Required to work some holidays. Cognitive skills required for this position include learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and reasoning.

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
