THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
Our Ophthalmic Scribe 2 is critical to our success. You’re an experienced medical scribe with an advanced knowledge of coding. You’re responsible for listening, observing, and accurately documenting real-time interactions between our providers and our patients. You’ll accompany the provider during the examination and treatment of patients and transcribe the diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions, ensuring the highest level of attention to detail. You are cross trained to work with all specialties.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
Prepare the patient chart/EMR and room for exam based on the physician requirements and preferences
Accurately and thoroughly document the patient-provider interactions as they are being performed by the clinician in the patient’s chart/EMR
Track testing and medication orders by the physician
Provide the highest level of service and care to our patients
Educate the patient regarding testing, procedures, prescription instructions, etc
Serve as a work-up technician and performs accurate ophthalmic procedures and testing (auto-refraction; visual acuity; measure and record glasses; tonometry; pupils; dilate; HRT; VF; pachymeter; corneal topography; OCT; B-scan; keratometry; confrontation fields; administering eye drops or ointments)
Audit patient charts to ensure accurate information has been entered
Other duties as assigned by management
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
You are an experienced Medical Scribe
You have advanced knowledge of coding
You are crossed trained to all specialties
You’re an excellent communicator – both verbally and written.
You’re outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients every day.
You’re comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients’ needs.
You’re a dependable problem solver – you’re the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations.
You have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments.
You’re flexible – you roll with the punches and easily accept change.
You’re knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
