About This Position

Position Summary

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Human Resources Generalist to provide comprehensive support across all functions of the Human Resources Department.

This role plays a critical part in recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits support, training administration, and wellness programming. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically proficient, and committed to delivering exceptional internal customer service in a healthcare setting.

Essential Responsibilities 1. Recruitment & Onboarding Support
  • Assist in all aspects of the recruitment process, including job postings, applicant processing, interview coordination, offer letters, and reference checks.

  • Coordinate pre-employment assessments, background checks, and post-offer physicals.

  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation, required documentation, and integration into BCHC’s culture and values.

  • Provide employees with information regarding organizational policies, procedures, and programs.

2. HR Operations & Employee Support
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and payroll systems, including personal data, compensation, benefits, tax information, attendance, performance evaluations, and termination documentation.

  • Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalate complex or sensitive matters appropriately.

  • Support benefits administration and maintain accurate eligibility records.

  • Complete HR reporting related to hires, transfers, and terminations.

  • Provide general administrative and office support to the HR department.

  • Assist with performance management documentation and tracking.

  • Manage the BCHC online learning and training platform.

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement and operational efficiency.

  • Support special projects as assigned.

3. Wellness Program Administration
  • Maintain eligibility records for employees and spouses participating in the wellness program.

  • Provide enrollment support and communicate participation requirements.

  • Initiate and process end-of-program incentives.

4. Other Duties
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the HR team and organizational objectives.

Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; or combination of education and experience (one year of work experience equals one year of education).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to learn and navigate HRIS and payroll systems.

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or combination of education and experience (one year of work experience equals one year of education).

  • Experience with Symplr and Paylocity systems.

  • Prior human resources or administrative support experience.
