Position Overview

This position is a substitute teacher role for kindergarten through eighth grade, supporting a classical Christian curriculum that involves a love for ancient wisdom, instilling virtue, connecting Christ to every subject, and developing world class rhetorical skills.

Reports to the Principal

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong Christian faith and values and acknowledgement of the School’s Statement of Faith and Staff Leadership Covenant.
• Associate degree or higher education level.
• Evidence of knowledge of elementary curriculum.
• Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration.
• Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.
• Must pass drug test, fingerprints, and local background check.

Responsibilities

• Applies lesson plans and teaches knowledge and skills to students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the approved curriculum.
• Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which they are assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and at other times during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day for assigned students.
