Experienced ER Veterinary Technician (2nd or 3rd Shift) at Dundee Animal Hospital – East Dundee, Illinois

As valued members of our emergency veterinary medical team, our skilled ER technicians are responsible for a wide variety of tasks including (but not limited to): placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, handling and restraining animals, assisting with surgery prep and anesthesia monitoring, administering subQ and IM injections, performing “in house” laboratory tests, and positioning, taking and developing radiographs.

Our ER technicians work with our skilled team of assistants and doctors to provide high-quality emergency patient care to those pets who need us most. YOUR SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• You work well in a fast-paced environment
• You stay calm and composed under pressure, whether it’s an emergency or an upset client
• You have excellent problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills
• You are able to work as part of a team with all levels of hospital staff
• You are well-spoken and handle your job duties in a professional & positive manner
• You are skilled in taking patient TPRs, animal handling/restraint, and client interaction
• You have experience administering SQ, IM, and IV fluids/injections, and more
